
Laurent Gheeraert
Professor at Solvay, Managing Director of the international QTEM network
Laurent Gheeraert is a professor of finance at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (ULB) and Managing Director of QTEM (Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management), an international network of quantitative master’s programmes connecting business schools and universities across four continents and offering its students more than twenty exchange destinations. Before his academic career, he was a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company. A research fellow at the Centre Emile Bernheim, he has published noted work on Islamic finance and banking sector development, notably in Economic Modelling, as well as on private capital flows and economic growth. At Sagora, he teaches the "Company valuation and financing" module of the Finance for managers programme: understanding what drives a company’s value, how to finance it and how an investor or an acquirer looks at it. He brings the dual perspective of the finance researcher and the former strategy consultant.
